University Information Services requires a Senior Network Security Analyst to work as an individual contributor with a team of three people in the UIS Security office.

The Senior Network Security Analyst reports to the UIS Security Officer who reports to the CIO.

The Senior Network Security Analyst will provide technical expertise and guidance in the areas of information security analysis, intrusion detection, incident response and network security management.

The successful candidate will work with legal counsel, campus police, internal and external auditing and a broad section of the university community to identify, track and clarify ongoing issues related to computer security and risk.

Controls are in place at the university to support the security office. UIS is looking for a Senior Network Security Analyst who will be able to support both the technical and policy sides of security enforcement. In order to support the technical side, the successful candidate must feel confident in both a Unix and Windows platform. The successful candidate will audit and strengthen security on workstations, servers and network systems for approximately 20,000 active users supporting approximately 50,000 objects that must be tracked.

This is an enterprise position that touches many varied activities and populations all over campus. The Senior Network Security Analyst works with systems and network administrators to ensure that appropriate security levels are maintained 24x7.

In cooperation with staff and operating within the guidelines of the information security policy and acceptable use policy, the Senior Network Security Analyst performs penetration testing, security validation and other technical tasks using commercial and publicly available security tools. Requirements for the position include:

• At least three years of enterprise Unix (pref. Solaris), Windows NT/2000/XP, and/or Cisco system/network administration in an enterprise environment, including the ability to perform operating system hardening, tuning and audit

• At least four years of technical information security experience in one or more of the following areas: intrusion detection, incident response, forensics, vulnerability assessment, system audit and firewall management

• The candidate must have experience with current commercial and open-source security tools, such as Nmap, Nessus, ISS Internet Scanner, Snort, and tcpdump

• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP required. Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, Sendmail, SNMP, Apache, IIS, Oracle, and SQL desirable • Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: Perl, Unix Shell, C, C++, or Java • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent with relevant course work in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field(s) is required

The following are desired but not required:

Detailed working knowledge of network firewall principles and operation, understanding of Authentication/Authorization technologies such as LDAP, RADIUS, and NTLM/Active Directory is necessary.

CISSP certification required. One or more of the following GIAC Gold certifications a plus: GCFW, GCIA, GCIH, GCWN,GCUX, GSNA, GCFA. Cisco and Microsoft MCSE certifications a plus.

CISSP with Security Testing experience is required

Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP) is a consulting services firm providing technology integration, program/project management, QA and networking support.

VIP has an IMMEDIATE need for a CISSP (must have current certification) Enterprise Security Consultant for a short term project beginning Monday April 24th. There are approximately 100 hours left on the task order, and work must be completed by May 6th.

Please review the following qualifications carefully and only reply if you qualify and are available immediately (today).

REQUIRED SKILLS:
CISSP (a must)
Experience in security testing (active, passive and blind)
Heavy UNIX and Sun networking experience required

ENVIRONMENT:
Testing will be performed with the following open source tools:
Ettercap 0.x , Hydra 5.x , Metasploit 2.x , Netcat 0.x , Nessus 3.x , Nikto 1.x

Techniques that will be used are:
Network Scanning, IP Spoofing, Packet Flag manipulation, Packet Fragmentation , Packet Bouncing , Source Routing
Cookie and Form manipulation, SQL Injection , Cross-site scripting and Exploitation of known vulnerabilities.

Our team is already in place and working on the job so it is not necessary to have experience with all of the above ENVIRONMENT tools or techniques. We need a strong person to compliment our team and participate in some of the workload.
